Biography

Jan Willem Lindeman was born on the 28th of January 1890 in Amsterdam. As a self-taught violin-maker, he started his workshop in 1922 and made violins of his own model. The varnish of his violins changed several times. First his varnish was fairly red, later it became more yellow and red again, finally he made his violins with golden-coloured bottoms and red tops.
