Biography

George Lodewijk Apkink (Apkinq) was born in Bockenberg (Germany) in 1734. He moved to Holland were he married Johanna Meerkens on July 31th 1761, in presence of violinmaker Jan Heefke. They lived in Amsterdam at the Petanjestraat. Known is a beautiful violin with a good sound, owned by Ms. Staal-Giese in 's Gravenhage.
