Biography

Bartolomé Straatemeier, born in 1956, was trained by Patricia Naismith at the Department of Musical Instrument Technology of the London College of Furniture, at present a part of the London Guildhall University. For some years he had a violin-shop in Leiden, The Netherlands. Besides this he worked in an ethnographic museum, repairing ethnographical musical instruments from all over the world. At this moment he dedicates himself to the making and photography of violins and violas in Leiden. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Musical Instrument Makers (NVMM).
